Bonnie Johnstone and Veselina Tomova's delightful book The Pig & the Dumpling was warmly celebrated on Saturday, May 4th. A book launch is a wonderful opportunity to send a book out into the world, and this one was well launched indeed.
Members of the Witless Bay Heritage Committee went all out to create a fun and engaging event at the Puffin Centre. There was lively music from local musicians, Claire and Chris Dowden; lots of delicious food; colouring sheets for the little ones; a beautiful display of Veselina Tomova's original artwork for the book; a lovely message from the Presentation Sisters (delivered kindness of Colleen Hanrahan); and a fine introduction to the book by Bonnie Johnstone.
This sweet book is about community, and so it was especially touching to see the community of Witless Bay gather in support. Thanks to all who made the day so special.
